Rivers and Roads

rivers and roads, rivers and roads, rivers 'til i reach you.  -the head and the heart

We've been experiencing a warmer than usual winter around here.  On one hand, I'm disappointed that this winter hasn't included more sled riding and snowmobiling.  But on the other, I'm thrilled to be able to get out in light layers and for the air to already be smelling like spring.  A few images from our most recent outdoor adventure!

First Snow

Our first taste of winter fell upon us this week with a larger than expected snowstorm.  As soon as H came home from school, the boys bundled up and ran out the door to play.  It didn't matter that snow was blowing sideways into their faces, they wanted to run in it, throw it and eat it.

"Thank goodness for the first snow.  It was a reminder - no matter how old you became and how much you'd seen - things could still be new if you were willing to believe that such things mattered."                    - Candace Bushnell
